Facebook post sparks controversy in House of God

Superiority war is about to be witnessed in the House of God as followers of Prophet T.B Joshua and Warri-based cleric, Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, are trading words following a post on Facebook, where the general public was warned against the “antics of Fufeyin, who is accused of addressing himself as the ‘first son’ of T.B Joshua. 

In a post on T.B Joshua’s Facebook page, the general public was warned to beware of a man who is going about calling himself the first son of T.B Joshua. The post reads in part, 

“Our attention has been drawn to several articles circulating online in which an individual named Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is referred to as the “first son” of Prophet T.B. Joshua. We wish to inform the general public that The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Emmanuel TV and Prophet T.B. Joshua are not affiliated with this individual or his ministry.” 

Reacting to the post, followers of Fufeyin frowned at the allegation, insisting that the Ijaw prophet and founder of the Warri-based Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry has never addressed himself as the first son of TB Joshua. 

“Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin is a man of love; shows love and respects all ministers of God including Prophet TB Joshua. We believe and practice love, humility, sacrifice and unity”, one of Fufeyin’s followers fired back. 

Also, reacting to the post, Fufeyin, feeling insulted, stated that he has neither referred to himself as the first son of prophet T.B Joshua nor paid tithe to him as his spiritual godfather. Addressing the matter last week, the Ijaw prophet said while he respects and loves T.B Joshua as a prophet of God, he has never operated under his shadow. He once attributed the reason people refer to him as “T.B Joshua Junior” to the miracles God is using him to perform. 

“They said I am calling myself the first son of T.B Joshua. When you read my interviews, I have never called myself the first son of T.B Joshua. I am the General Overseer of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, and T. B Joshua is the General Overseer of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations. How then can I refer to myself as the first son of somebody? It means I am demoting myself. It also means I don’t know what I am doing. First sons are people who submit their tithes, and other things to their fathers. But I have never submitted anything to T.B Joshua. I never paid my tithe to Synagogue. I have sons and even grand children. I read it in the media. The press guys were the ones that called me the first son of T.B Joshua,”

 he said. 

“When I was coming up in the ministry, they called me Niger Delta T.B Joshua, Ijaw T.B Joshua, Warri T.B Joshua, T.B Joshua Junior. I told them categorically that I am neither junior or Warri T.B Joshua, but I am Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin. I just love the man and I love other men of God. But surprisingly, while I was in a crusade abroad, this announcement surfaced on T.B Joshua’s Facebook page that I am calling myself the first son of T.B Joshua. When I looked at it, I reckoned that it was not T.B Joshua that wrote it. I hold the media responsible for that write-up which was targeted at capturing peoples’ attention”.
